Day 13. Jackon Hole (Wyoming) & Yellowstone National Park

We arrived into Jackson Hole and picked up our hire car. By then it was around 11pm.

We didn't have anywhere planned to stay the night so found a quiet road near a hotel and stayed overnight in the car.

Around 8am we headed to get some breakfast and buy Alex a duvet of some sort as he didn't bring a sleeping bag.

We then headed up to YNP driving through The Grand Tetons which hopefully we will have a little bit of time in on the last day.

Thug life.

All the reservable camping was full months ago. YNP takes bookings up to 3 years in advance. There were however, first come first served camping sites. We were aiming for one of those. Lewis Lake Campsite was the closest to the South Entrance (where we were coming from) and was a 'first come first served' campsite. It said it was full but after lots of fun and games were were lucky to secure the LAST SPOT IN YELLOWSTONE FOR THE NIGHT!!!!!

No.22 proving to be a lucky number for me. Won me some money at the Grand National too.

Two happy geysers who managed to secure a camping site!

After lunch we made our way north to Old Faithful, which is 40 miles north of Lewis Lake.

Old Faithful eruption

Alex and some other geyser.

Didn't realise we hadn't to bring our swimming costumes...

This ones a bit too small. Must be the toddler edition.

Us at Grand Prismatic Spring. Google it! Pretty cool if you've never studied it.

I had read online there was a really cool place to swim at YNP but didn't have a location name. We were directed towards Madison about 16 miles north. Turns out it was south of here at Firehole Canyon.

Here the water had a really fast current.

Going

Going

Gone.
Best I be off then.

It was about an hour and a half drive back to Lewis Lake. It was gone 10 so we just ate & went to bed.

"Subway. Have it your way"
