The 12 hour bus wasn't actually that bad! I managed to sleep a fair way. We picked up our hire car from the airport (makes it easier for our return when we fly out in 2 days & saves us rushing). We got a Hyundai Accent (South Korean, it grew up there...) We did think we were getting another Fiat, in fact the guy behind the counter told us were. Was a nice little upgrade when we went to collect.
We drove through Denver and various other towns including Lyons for around 2 hours until we reached the entrance of Estes Park. Driving the Highway & Interstate was fun!
We did the off road unpaved car trail up to the top, called Old Fall River Road. It had great views. We stopped and left the car at various lay by's on the way. We didn't walk far off track.
We then drove to Boulder, which is where we are staying tonight. Our host is Karl and we are staying in a house which he built himself! It's so lovely and homely. Karl cooked dinner for both us, him and Meg (his friend also from Boulder, who he met on a Climate March in New York last year). Meg who is just a year older than me, has offered to take us round Boulder on Monday, which would be great.
No captions, sorry. Will tell you all more tomorrow. I'm so shattered from driving and it only half 10. Night xx
